From the indoor unit, the refrigerant is transferred to the outdoor coil and compressor. So, what happens to the used refrigerant? The compressor recycles the refrigerant so that it can keep absorbing and then cooling the air from the room. The refrigerant is compressed so that it becomes high-pressured and then moves into the outdoor coil or condenser so that when it reaches the fan, the warm air is cooled in the condenser coil.
From this process, it would be safe to assume that the air conditioning process is not about cooling the air, but more about collecting warm air and dispersing it outside of the room or building. The process begins when the thermostat detects that the temperature of the room is different from the information you feed it when you change the temperature. It will continue to monitor the temperature in the room to maintain the coolness.
To simplify the process, remember that the warm air passer first throughthe condenser coil, then the expansion valve, next the evaporator coil wherethe air cools, and then the compressor. The process then repeats again and again until there is no warm air that can be cooled.
